Elementary After School Program Supervisor

Tukwila Cummunity Schools Collaboration a Non Profit organization that supports the Tukwila School District in after school programming is seeking a Part time site supervisor for Tukwila Elementary.

Essential Functions

• Supervise/Manage part-time staff members during program hours: Assistant Supervisor, Enrichment Coordinator(s), TCC, WRC Staff and contractors.

• Supervise students and apply appropriate behavior management

• Plan project activities for students

• Completes required reports and maintains accurate records and documentation

• Maintains communication and relationships with school day and afterschool staff, parents and service providers as required

• Promote program throughout the school and maintain a full roster of 75-100 students

• Attend school “School as a Whole” (SAW) Monthly Meetings

• Provide program updates for school Newsletters

• Attend Monthly TCSC Staff Meetings



Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

• Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS: Ability to use computers for entry into database, spreadsheets, word-processing and network software, including email; proficient use of telephone systems with voice mail; ability to use copy machine; effective organizational and time management skills

KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of age-appropriate education expectations; ability to develop and implement age-appropriate educational enhancement activities and other enrichment activities; knowledge of student behavior management

ABILITY: Ability to supervise staff; communicate effectively via oral and written communication; ability to work effectively with other team members; good people skills and personal judgment



• Responsibility

Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; creating a safe learning environment for all participants



• Working Environment

This job is primarily performed within school buildings in a generally clean and healthy environment. Work hours will vary from 20 -25 hours per week, primarily afternoons; includes school early release days; includes meetings and trainings as scheduled by Community Schools Director; reports to Community Schools Director



Experience

Two years experience working with elementary students in educational or recreational setting; experience with program management; experience working with multicultural, multilingual students and families



Qualifications

• AA degree in Education, Recreation or job related field preferred. Experience may substitute for educational requirements

• Salary Range: DOE; 20-25/hours/week approximate; September – June; no benefit or holiday pay

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
