Description:

We are an award-winning startup company located in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. We are creating a software platform to change the way drug discovery happens. Our model-based approach to experiment design empowers scientists to automate scientific workflows quickly, to manage experimental data seamlessly, and to collaborate effectively.

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the design and development of the back-end services provided by our platform. We are looking for a person with the right combination of talent, know-how, and passion to succeed in the rapidly evolving environment of a startup. Responsibilities:



- Provides hands-on leadership in the development of our back-end platform services.

- Participates in all aspects of development: requirement gathering and design, coding, testing, debugging, and profiling.

- Provides technical support for production systems on an as-needed basis.

- Produces technical documentation. Interacts with internal and external customers to keep them abreast of development activities and to gather requirements.

- Mentors junior staff.



Qualifications:



- Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field

- 5+ years of J2EE development for commercial applications

- Experience developing with a J2EE application server such as WebLogic, WebSphere or JBoss

- Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle databases preferred)

- Proficient with Spring, Hibernate and standard Java development tools such as Ant, Maven, Eclipse IDE, JUnit

- Skilled at object-oriented programming and design

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
