Amazon.com is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to work with the Vendor Systems team to create and drive programs focused on automating our Vendor interactions.
In June 2006, Amazon launched the first version of its Vendor Extranet. The Vendor Extranet provides a portal for our vendors to interact with Amazon.com. Our initial launch provided a platform for vendors to sign-up with Amazon.com, Create and Maintain Purchase Orders, Contact Us, as well as a number of other applications.
This initial launch just scratches the surface of what Amazon can do to provide vendors with a robust and cost-effective way to interact with Amazon.com and its buyers. You will be responsible for driving initiatives to expand the platform and to create a world class vendor management system, just to name two. You will participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle, from gathering customer requirements to defining the strategy and architecture, through deployment and support.
The Vendor Systems TPM will be responsible for leading and developing international enterprise applications. Our primary objective is to improve the efficiency and scalability of Amazon’s interaction with its vendors. The scope of these initiatives requires us to recruit a high-energy, talented individual who can manage innovation and execution. This is a high visibility position and requires sound decision making capabilities. You will drive the projects to improve Amazon’s systems that interact with vendors and interact with technical and business teams across the company. The initiatives that you will lead are viewed by senior management as critical enhancements needed to reduce cost, and improve customer experience by increasing selection and in-stock.
