Summary of Experience;

Extensive expertise and knowledge of a variety of trades including lumber grading, painting, automotive, machine shop, marine, mechanical, and building maintenance and repair. Excellent woodworking and carpentry skills including building, framing, drywall, taping, cabinet installation, flooring, millwork, doors, light electrical and plumbing. Painting, Carpentry, and Preservation:



• Over 17 years of painting experience including commercial and submarine painting. Expertise rebuilding- rehabilitating boats, Marine and Navy, including sheet metal laminating surfaces, wall paper(vinyl), flooring systems. Sandblasting industrial and glass bead experience.



• Knowledge applications, functions of latex, water base, oil base, polyurethanes, epoxies base coat, clear coat systems, automotive, marine paints, lacquers, wood stains, interior and exterior clears, convension varnish(white), primers of all types, vinyl powder/paint applied on MLC closed and open cell foam, thinners and other related chemicals, mixing and matching of paints and stains.



• Comprehensive knowledge of the applications and properties of paints, epoxies, stains, varnish, and thinners for automotive, marine, signs and commercial jobs.



• Masking, priming, painting, airbrushing, and spraying all types of surfaces. Brush and roller experience, MILSPECS, gauges, and other methods. Knowledge of various paint systems; airless, conventional, pressure pot, and gravity fed.



• Function and applications of paints, substrates, and other materials related to housing industrial, manufacturing, wood products, automotive, and defense industry Navy Ships and submarines.



Machinery and Equipment Operating Skills

• Expertly setup and operate machine shop equipment including lathe, mill, automatic cut off saw, hand and power equipment, veneer calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.



• Layout and application of fiberglass epoxy sleeves with molded wood grain patterns to size rolls; Utilize various epoxy glues.



• Skilled in operating and maintaining forklifts and material handling equipment.



• Certified operator of Hyster 50, 190, and 280 forklifts. Certified for operation of 15-ton demag radio control remote crane for rigging and lifting of heavy objects.



• Operate 3000 and 10,000 NLB hi-pressure washer system.



• Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, engineering drawings, manufacturer’s manuals and technical documents.

Inspect and grade random length lumber, conscientiously monitoring flow and control. Troubleshoot machinery problems, resolve issues, and perform preventive maintenance.
