We are an award-winning startup company located in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. We are creating a software platform to change the way drug discovery happens. Our model-based approach to experiment design, automation, and simulation, empowers scientists to automate adaptive scientific processes quickly, to manage experimental data seamlessly, and to collaborate effectively.
We are seeking a Java software engineer to join our product development team. We are looking for a person with the right combination of broad programming skills, intelligence, and passion to succeed in the rapidly evolving environment of a startup. Responsibilities:
- You will be working with senior members of our engineering team and will be responsible for the implementation and testing of specific features, including features in areas such as graphical development tools, web-based interfaces to automation and simulation frameworks, and web-based scientific research portal development.
- You will participate in on-going activities to foster the quality of our products. These activities may involve debugging complex problems, writing performance tests, writing full-scale functional tests and/or creating comprehensive examples in our SDK.
- You will create technical documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
- 2+ years of Java development for commercial applications.
- Proficient with object-oriented programming in Java.
- Experience with Swing and multi-threaded applications is a plus.
- Proficient with standard Java development tools such as Ant, Eclipse IDE, JUnit.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle databases preferred).
- Knowledge of web-development frameworks (such as Spring MVC) is a strong plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
