Description:
A Finance Business Operations team, located in Redmond, Washington is looking for an excellent Content Writer who has experience with creating, interviewing, reviewing and editing newsletter articles and publishing to a SharePoint site. The successful candidate will own the monthly newsletter that is sent out to a worldwide audience within this organization featuring MS Office for home businesses, ensuring that content is understandable by both technical and non-technical readers.
In addition to the newsletter, the successful candidate will work closely with their Solutions and Data Managers to create training material for new reports, input templates and tools that are created within the Business Operations team. Training materials will be used in both live meetings and developed into on-demand online training. All training material should have the same look and feel and customized for the specific audience (technical or non-technical).
As an experienced Content Writer, you will also be expected to make recommendations for improvements in format, frequency, content for their newsletter, communications/email and training based on customer feedback.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how to tailor technical/non-technical content to meet this unique audience’s breadth of needs; solid writing skills; a proven track record of customer-focused contributions. As a content writer you will have strong project scheduling and planning skills and you will attend to detail while keeping focused on writing goals.
Qualifications:
Successful candidate will:
• Own and drive world-class content.
• Work with PMs and Developers to define high-value content.
• Write all types of content, including conceptual and procedural topics.
• Prepare content for publication and manage content for continuous publishing.
• Work with customers to understand what they need from your content.
• Be a customer advocate and help to improve the customer experience.
• Analyze and respond to customer feedback.
• Have confidence to develop innovative solutions to customer needs.
• Work well with diverse people in a close, collaborative team environment.
• Collaborate with peers to design sections of the documentation.
• Work independently and with others in product development, product support, and content development.
• Learn new tools, technologies, and processes quickly.
Candidate also has:
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Strong project management skills.
• A proven track record of managing and delivering complex documentation projects.
• Three or more years creating end-user documentation.
• Three or more years of technical writing experience in an online environment.
• BA in English, Journalism, Education, or Technical Communication or two years equivalent experience.
